The Ballad refers to Mr. Ciacca main influence as jazz pianist the legendary Bud Powell. The piece is composed on the harmonies of G. Gerswhin's "Embraceable You". The piece has been included in the first suite that Ciacca composed specifically for the Orsara Jazz International Jazz Festival and Summer Camp: "The Orsara Suite"
